October 2013 update

Gatcombe and South of England Horse Trials, the last 2 one day events of the year for me went very well, with Jay and Chubby being well placed in the OI sections at both events.

Chubby’s trip to France was disappointing with him not feeling himself across country which resulted in us retiring early on the course 🙁

Emily had a great end to her season at Weston Park CCI finishing 2nd in the CCI* on Bedgebury Park’s Zara and 2nd in the CCI YR** with Brook. And to top it all she was crowned the U21 National Champion! We have found a single buyer for Brook which is wonderful, and a huge relief for Emily to be able to maintain the ride on him. Now the season is finished Emily has gone to work for Ben Maher for a month and then on to the Eilbergs. After Christmas she is spending a month in Florida working for top US showjumper Lauren Hoff.

As patron of the Devon Air Ambulance I was happy to swop hooves for wheels for the day and take part in a 40 mile sponsored bike ride….and thoroughly enjoyed it! 40 of us took part and raised a healthy 25k plus!

I have a new sponsor ‘Forever Living’ (www.foreverliving.com). They have a fabulous range of lovely natural Aloe Vera based products (for humans and horses!).

I am breaking in 3 of my homebreds at the moment..(2 Kings Temptress x Chilli Morning and 1 Kings Fancy x Mill Law) so far so good!

During this last week I have done 2 full days teaching in the north of England, and 4 after dinner talks, plus 2 meetings…..What a lot of talking, but fun to keep busy!
