Equitana in Melbourne Australia was a fun trip. I was asked to do 3 educational masterclasses, and a lecture/demo in the main arena. I had to be on a panel of judges judging a competition called “Way of the horse” and also ride in a ‘ride and drive’ competition (finishing in 2nd place!). Press and media duties, plus signing sessions filled up the 4 days I was there. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, and I was very well looked after by Sharon Ridgeway (who is well known agent for finding and selling top horses).
I flew out to Australia straight after “Your Horse Live” at Stoneleigh where I did 4 demos with Archie (Imperial Cavalier). He and Chubby (Cavalier Venture) went straight on from there to Cheshire for their winter holidays with owners Eddie and Sue Davies and Janette Chinn.
A horse hunting trip to Ireland resulted in finding a lovely 4 yr old mare by Cavalier Royale (same sire as Archie). She was bought by new local owners John Bevan, Pete Appleford and Roger Trivett. She will be called Kings Choice… stable name ‘Lottie’.
Talks for sponsors Pfizer, In the Saddle, BMW, and a talk my brother organised at his local school for the Dorset Air Ambulance, and one for the Axe Vale Pony Club all went well. Teaching days for Stonar School and HSBC, plus a photographic session for ‘S’ Magazine (The Sunday Express magazine) for the feature piece’In the Closet’ have all made November a busy but very enjoyable month.
Emily enjoyed working in Sweden and has now returned to do a few weeks work for William and Pippa Funnell who have many homebred 4 and 5 yr olds in work.
David, my husband, and I fly to The States in Dec for 10 days, part work part holiday…I am looking forward to relaxing in some sun!!
