My horses always have a well earned short break in June each year and my hard working girls Emma Hartwell and Lauren Reed have a very well earned weeks holiday.
I’ve had a couple of holidays – I could get quite used to not competing (not really, I can’t wait to get going again in August!!).
1 week in Egypt for Emily’s 18th birthday present where she did a Padi Open Water Diving course with Elite Diving, then a few days away to Spain with my husband and friends… I’ve never had such brown legs at this time of the year!! In between I have done 2 teaching clinics and also had a lovely day at Royal Ascot.
Emily kindly rode my King Dan at his 2nd BE100 and did a respectable 28 0 0, she has 3 more events to do with him before I can take him back! Em has an exciting time ahead, she is hoping to get selected with either Brook or Zara for the Junior European Championships (which are at Bishops Burton in August). She has a couple of final trials to attend, and is also hoping to do the CIC*** at Barbary and the British Open Champs at Gatcombe, so exciting times ahead!
My ghost writers and I are progressing well with the training book I am doing, it’s very exciting now it is starting to take shape. My holidays have given me a great opportunity to get the proof reading done. We are on track for it to be launched at Burghley.
