I have been awarded an MBE!!!

I received my MBE at an Investiture at Buckingham Palace on March 12th, what a proud moment! The Princess Royal presented the awards and my mother Jill, plus Emily and Freddie joined me (David was too busy on the farm, and each recipient could only bring 3 guests). It was such a memorable day and felt such an incredible honour.

Well the event season is underway. Emily and I and the horses had a fun time at Moreton Horse Trials. Urco and Jay had an easy run around the Open Novice (rather too exuberant on the XC), but both had time off last year so they had a good excuse to be enjoying themselves too much! Chubby also had an easy run in the ON, and Lottie did her first BE90…she was green but very willing.

Tweseldown was sadly a wash out…we did 4 dressage tests in thick mud then went home. It had rained hard and I felt it is a long way until October, the end of the season, and the young horses didn’t need to be slipping about in the deep going at this stage of their careers.

Archie and Tess have their first run of the season at Aldon Horse Trials this weekend. Fingers crossed the weather forecast is wrong as it is meant to rain heavily 🙁
